PERC stands for Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell, this technology defines a modified solar cell architecture than the standard mono- and polycrystalline structure. There is an extra layer against the back of the cell that allows some of the light radiation to be reflected back to still be converted into electrical energy. The efficiency is 6 to 12% above conventional cells.
