Faston connectors are widely used in electronics, but from now on they can also be tested properly, quickly and safely, also at high currents up to 50A. The new high-current test probe 1075/GV is, due to its unique gripping UX tip shape, ideal for contacting faston's without having to apply large forces to them.
These flat connectors are increasingly used in of eMobility devices and, for example, in infotainment in cars.
In end-of-line, burn-in and run-in tests, the individual contacts of these devices must be contacted.
The contact surfaces on the leading edge are usually too small to reliably transmit high currents. At the same time, the test must not leave marks on the contact surfaces.
The fixed part of the contact pin makes an ideal and permanently secure alignment with the faston under test. When the contact head is passed over the flat lip, the movable part of the head clamps the flat pin against the fixed part. In this way, a large contact area is guaranteed without affecting the contact surfaces of the DUT.
