In addition to standard enclosures, Elincom can offer customer-specific enclosures through our sister company Metric IMS. By cleverly designing the enclosure, the cost of the injection mold remains low. As a result, it pays to have an enclosure made entirely according to your wishes even for small quantities, sometimes as few as a few hundred pieces.
The advantage of a customer-specific injection molded enclosure is that it creates a unique product, which fits the application and/or the company in terms of appearance. And what is of course also functionally optimally adapted, think of sealing, shape, robustness, color, etc.
With inserts in the mold, display openings or connector openings can optionally be added or omitted. And so can the display of different logos or auxiliary texts per production series. Screw inserts can also be included in the injection molding process, ensuring a good seal of the enclosure, even if it is opened several times.
Metric IMS can take the entire process off your hands: design from idea to concept, through engineering to prototyping with 3D printing, for example. Then the mold is developed and made, after which series production follows, whether or not in-house, possibly with packaging and transport.
Where previously larger numbers of enclosures had to be produced to be profitable, Metric can do this even with small numbers.
