Panasonic introduces the IP67 ASQMR switch with resistor-based failure mode detection. The new ASQMR diagnostic microswitch contains two chip resistors as voltage dividers. This allows the detection of cable breakage or short circuits, thus preventing the occurrence of a fault that may cause serious damage. By setting different output voltage levels for normal versus fault mode, a fault is recognized.
The ASQMR is the most compact resistor-equipped switch currently available on the market.
A construction with double sliding contacts ensures excellent resistance to shock and vibration. Various versions are available with solder pins, fork terminals or with loose wires. A range of levers facilitates deployment in a variety of applications, including detection of lock latches on doors or valves in automobiles to industrial emergency and safety devices or detection in smart-home or building automation.
