Newland has a new long-range OEM module: the N1-ER. Until now, there are virtually no comparable OEM modules available in the market.
The new N1-ER is a scanning engine in a compact housing but with a 6th generation decoder chip with an extended scanning range which makes its performance exceptional. Even poor quality 1D and 2D barcodes are well recognized and barcodes displayed on a screen. The reading distance extends to as much as 1400mm, a laser spot makes aiming at long distances easy. Combined with the extremely small form factor of 23.8×10.5x7mm and low power consumption of 11.8mA in standby and 176mA during operation, the N1-ER is unique.
The serial interface to underlying systems can be implemented with the stable and proven RS232 interface or in USB which is more suitable for larger data rates. An evaluation board is available.
The N1-ER opens up a wide range of new possibilities, especially for mobile devices, payment terminals, wearable devices, access control, scanning on a conveyor belt, etc.
