The VinaTech 3V supercaps, will become the standard, with the 2.3 and 2.7V variants also remaining available. The 3V variants are so-called dry variants so that leakage in case of overvoltage and/or extreme heat can no longer occur.
The 3V supercap has the great advantage of increasing the operating voltage range and more energy in a smaller package is possible. The available capacitance is very wide from 1F to 500F. The super caps are available both leaded and with snap in terminals and an SMD generation is under development.
Applications may include: in inverters and converters, as a UPS function in more extreme applications such as outdoor solar and automotive.
