Power stack with extremely low DC link inductance

FTcap is developing a 3-phase power stack in cooperation with Danfoss Silicon Power. The Stack has extremely low inductance in the DC link. Possible applications include solar inverters, wind turbines and inductive heat sources. 

The 3-phase, 2-level half-bridge power stack has an input voltage of 400-575Vac and can be used in back-to-back applications (AC/AC) with 200A/300A as well as in parallel con guration (DC/AC) with 400A/600A. The unit is suitable for a switching frequency of 2-12kHz and a DC link capacitance of 4000μF. The extremely low inductance increases efficiency and the maximum allowable switchmode voltage. 

In the patented FischerLink concept, the capacitors are welded directly to a copper rail. This space-saving concept eliminates the additional space for capacitor connections thereby increases the volume capacity by 10%, while the lower inductance also improves the service life.
