Panasonic 's new passive infrared sensor impresses with its incredibly small lens at an installation height as low as 17 meters. When mounted at this height, the diameter of the sensing area is as much as 23.5 meters. The special lens design, with an additional staggered diameter, allows the sensor to be sealed according to IP rating, for example by using an o-ring. The diameter of the lens is 19.3mm and is available in pearl white, white and black. The 4-element sensor and lens, with as many as 128 detection zones, guarantees reliable operation even at these long distances. The sensing area is circular and symmetrical, which simplifies the integration of the sensor into the product, as the orientation in the product is not important. The output can be a digital open-collector output or an analog Op-Amp output. Panasonic's passive infrared sensors are perfectly applicable in smart building and smart city applications, in high-bay lights in warehouses, presence detection in building management systems, security cameras and street lighting.
