Bivar lightpipes are plastic components used to transport light signals from one point to another. With the use of these light guides, electronics designs remain compact and simple, but lightpipes are also inseparable from the aesthetics and functionality of the overall product.
Bivar offers two types of lightpipes:
- Rigid versions for short distances, made of fire-resistant plastic
- Flexible versions for longer distances consisting of optical fibers
From the LED light source, light is directed to a lens at the other end of the lightpipe. The optional ZeroLightBleed adapters prevent light leakage at the LED/lightpipe transition. Bivar also offers a range of selected LEDs that form an optimal combination with the lightpipes for maximum light transmission.
