With the HB-WHP-0700-B, Furukawa has only a 0.7kg heat sink to cool a high bay with a 150 ~ 180W COB LED. That's about half the weight compared to conventional aluminum casting or extrusion profiles. With dimensions 173x176mm and a thickness of 61mm, it is a flat module that allows the designer more freedom to develop an aesthetic fixture.
The matte black HYC series heat sinks are already weatherproof by default and consist of aluminum cooling fins with integrated copper heatpipes to distribute the heat. This achieves the highest thermal specifications without adding mass/weight and without the use of fans.
The heatpipe heat sinks can be used in all orientations, even vertical and upside down as a flood light but with a small decrease in cooling power. For heavier versions up to 300W, Furukawa offers an alternative of only 1kg, while passive cooling itself goes up to 500W.
