Dongguang Opsco Optoelectronics Co., LTD (Opsco) is the manufacturer of a series of intelligently controllable LEDs called Neopixels. Elincom is the Benelux partner for Opsco. Opsco offers smart LEDs that can be controlled like a pixel. The intelligence is integrated into a chip together with the LED. There are versions with single or multiple colors, such as RGB-W in one housing or cold and warm white in one housing. These colors can be individually controlled for both color and intensity. Multiple smart LEDs in an array or in a string are individually addressable with a PWM technique. Opsco LEDs offer the optimal freedom to create all kinds of lighting effects. For example, the SK6812RGBX is a smart LED with a control and drive circuit in one 5050 LED chip. The 4 pins consist of 3.5 ~5.5V power supply, minus, data input and data output. Each LED is controllable as a pixel, the colors and intensity of the pixels are included in the control protocol. The integrated control consists of a signal amplifier, a built-in constant current source and a precision RCoscillator. The control protocol is unipolar NRZ binary code of + and - 0.5V. The 32-bit code is sent from a controller to input of the first element, if accepted, it is decomposed by color. The remaining data is fed through the internal gain circuit to the digital output to the next element. The pixel is automatically reset at the end of the read cycle.
