Ground fault monitoring is an essential safety component in publicly accessible EV charging systems, for example. The ground fault circuit interrupter or Ground Fault Circuit Interruptor (GFCI) is triggered if a user makes unwanted contact with a current-carrying part.
The current measuring coil measures a leakage current to ground and generates a signal that shuts down the application completely.
The XFWULDC100T-EUGFCI-A coil from XFMRS provides this current measurement function in the application. The coil was developed as a safety component for the EV market, but is also applicable in medical applications, among others.
