Citizen has expanded its "Upward-lighting Multicolor LEDs" portfolio with the CL-V501, a compact 1.6×1.4mm RGB LED.
Through new development and new manufacturing methods, Citizen has succeeded in realizing an SMD multicolor LED that displays a natural white color with high color mixing property.
The CL-V501 has an area of only 2.24mm2 while its predecessor was almost half the size.
Due to the compact design, the individual three RGB diodes lie flush next to each other, which shows as greatly improved color mixing. In addition, the CL-V501 has a high brightness. Together, this results in brilliant light even in white light.
This CL-V501 RGB LED can therefore also replace the more expensive and larger RGBW LEDs.
These LEDs are used for lighting or as status indicators, for example, mood lighting in cars, for displays, game consoles and household appliances.
