Compact development and testing platforms for VNX+

VNX+ (VITA 90) is the latest VITA standard for embedded high-performance computing in applications where Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) are strictly limited. The architecture is a compact derivative of OpenVPX and complies with the principles of SOSA (Sensor Open Systems Architecture). As a result, VNX+ combines high performance with standardized interoperability and long-term availability.

With a mechanical form factor that is up to 70% smaller than a 3U OpenVPX module, VNX+ makes it possible to use modern CPUs, GPUs, and FPGAs in compact, mobile, and robust systems without compromising on bandwidth, signal integrity, or scalability. The standard supports modern serial interconnects and is suitable for data-intensive sensor and processing applications.

ELMA already supports VNX+ with multiple development platforms. This system hardware enables engineers to test their own boards, develop and validate software, and integrate both proprietary and purchased modules from different suppliers. This accelerates development processes and reduces technical risks when transitioning to VNX+ and SOSA-compliant systems.
