The combination of a COB with a lens often produces a Saturn ring, an undesirable discoloration at the bottom or outside of the light image. This problem manifests itself especially as the aperture angle gets smaller. Citizen has developed the Falcon COB for this, which has flat directionality in terms of chromaticity and thus eliminates the shortcoming.
The Falcon series will be available in most LES diameters, but for now is available in the smaller diameters, where this technique is best.
Mass production of LES=4.2mm will follow soon, samples are already available now.
