There is a growing demand for LED spots that require very directional lighting, the optics must have a very small opening angle. To realize this, there are COB LEDs with a much smaller LES (Light Emitting Surface) than conventional COB LEDs. The small LES creates less reflection and stray light. Now, in combination with a lens or reflector, it is possible to focus a very tight light beam on an object to be illuminated so that it is optimally illuminated.
With the CLU7xx series, consisting of 4 housings, each available in multiple color temperatures and RA values. It is possible to realize a lumen package from ~1000lm to >6000lm. The LES diameters range from 3.3 to 13.0mm.
Thereby, the usual color temperatures are available in
Ra80. For outdoor applications, even a 5000K in Ra70
is available. Of course, these LEDs also comply with MacAdam step
3 and the specifications are measured at Tj=85°C, "hot binning".
