In the field of public lighting, relamping is a practical way to make existing fixtures more sustainable without completely replacing them. The existing fixture housing is retained and technically upgraded with modern LED technology. This extends the service life of the existing installation and prevents unnecessary use of materials.
EA Srl addresses this need with LED modules—such as the MT467, MT526, and MT551—that are developed and manufactured in-house specifically for outdoor lighting applications. These IP67-rated modules are available in power ratings ranging from approximately 20 to 60 W, various color temperatures (CCT), and a variety of beam angle options. This allows the light distribution to be tailored to the specific application and the existing fixture.
Thanks to their compact dimensions and modular design, the modules can be integrated into existing luminaires. This makes retrofitting possible with relatively few modifications and minimal installation time. The modules are designed for efficient heat dissipation and stable light output.
An LED retrofit can therefore reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs while reusing existing fixtures and materials. For public lighting, relamping thus offers a practical way to modernize existing installations in stages, without immediately proceeding to a complete replacement.
In addition to technical and economic advantages, the origin of components is also playing an increasingly important role in the selection of lighting solutions. EA Srl’s LED modules are developed and manufactured entirely in-house in San Marino. In doing so, EA has made a conscious decision to maintain its own European production and direct control over development and manufacturing.
